Record lows may get shattered tonight! BDR's record low is 20 in both 2001 and 1996 and NWS is predicting a low of 15 in the storm's wake! They even think Central Park's record low of 20 way back in 1894 has a shot of being tied or broken (NWS predicted low is 21).

Danbury is predicted to have a low of 10!

But after a below normal day of around 40 tomorrow we finally get something that (still at or slightly below normal) is more springlike

Still sour grapes, I see.
Well, sour memories of thowing away otherwise decent metal items I had stored. That, and rust removal on a lot of things (not chromium wrenches; they don't rust) I thought I could store there.

One clue was when I noticed that the snow that melted off the parked cars stayed liquid for weeks. Same thing in the summer, mostly. I'm a slow learner but that's when I figured out that (even if the house was winter bone dry) the garage stayed right around 100% humidity year round.

And somehow you deduce that this is the weather's fault...?

Well, most of the inhabited part of CT is a swamp with rocks sticking out of it. It's on the east coast where weather patterns bring far more humid than dry air most of the year. It's natural state is ... damp.

Winter in ct is nearly as dry a desert when it comes to humidity. Cold air can't hold a lot of humidity. The idea of a "wet" cold when it's below 32 degrees is a myth.

Should be any moment now. What a windy day. My max was 45mph. BDR 50mph. Danbury 45mph. Groton 52mph.

I didn't even know this either. That cold huh. I'm still wondering how we stayed in the 30s during the day 3 days in a row with the Sun as strong as September 15th.

Max temps today:

The garage was in a high ranch, and set into a hill. It never froze inside.

Didn't make it after all......CPK and BDR both 23 right now, will probably only go down another degree or two......while temperatures the next few days are not going to be as warm as originally predicted, they will definitely be higher (30s at night, 50s by day), so this is probably really it with "winter".

Thank the Lord. It's supposed to rain quite a bit, too (according to my weather app, lol!). The sign of no snow is a good thing in the upcoming weeks. Hopefully, it stays that way. Nothing ruins the entire year for me more than snow in April. I'm hoping all the snow on the ground can melt in the next 4 days. x_x
