The OP is asking how to get from Stamford to Hartford and the answer is the same, bus. Hartford is almost 80 miles from Stamford so of course there is not going to be a lot of mass transit options for someone without a car. A bus trip wold take more than 4 hours though so I am not sure it would be worth it. I know Greyhound has a bus from Stamford to Hartford. There may be others as well. The OP needs to research it further. Jay
New Jersey , you can get anywhere in the state by bus or rail....thats why close to 2 million people use it. Theres really no excuse not to have a good network in your state other then Hartford BS.

They don't. The UConn MSBAPM degree is brand new, and (AFAIK) unique in CT. But I agree: there is no practical way to attend those classes from Stamford other than your own car.

I didn't realize there was a bus or train line from Cape May to Bergen county. Can you point that out to me??

You have to switch , but theres service from Philly or Camden or Atlantic City , from North Jersey theres a line down to Atlantic City. Train Service to Cape May is about 15 years away.... You might have to switch a few times in this state to access the smaller towns and neighborhoods but they do have service. Which is well used , cheap and service is decent.

Nexis 100% right you can go from Bergen County to Cape May County, all on public transportation.

You can take the train from bergen to philly, then hop on a bus from philly to cape may, thats the one way i know, but im sure theres other combinations you can use

Rhode Island has a pretty decent transportation system. When I lived there (in college), I could hop on a bus for FREE (must show student ID card) and get from Providence to anywhere in the State. Granted it's small, but I would venture to say that the State has a whole has a good system.

And...as I just realized last night when I drove past it...there's a train station just across from T.F. Green airport, co-located with the rental car facility.

I suggest taking the Metro-North from Stamford to New Haven. At the New Haven train station one can connect to a Peter Pan bus to Hartford.

Not quite, but thanks to NJ Transit, I think NYC and Philly are the only 2 major cities in the US that literally have connecting commuter rail systems.

This is no different than what the OP is facing traveling 70 miles from Stamford to Hartford. They take a bus in Stamford to Hartford and back. Any I would guess the travel time would be the same. Jay
