Boston has no effect on CT.

NYC does with Metro North/I-95, Norwalk-Stamford- Westchester County- NYC

I've heard of people commuting from the NE corner of CT to jobs on 495 in Hopkinton, Milford, Marlboro. That's already 75-120 minute commute. Would a 2+ hour commute to Boston be worth it?

I doubt it.

The only thing I could see for Connecticut if Amazon locates in Boston is maybe things would get even more expensive than they already are and companies turn to Hartford or New Haven for expansion to avoid the insanity that is happening in Seattle now. Jay

More layoffs at ESPN. It is just 100 of the 8,000 employees the company has and there is no word how many of the 4,200 employees the company has here in Connecticut will be affected. Jay

Here is an interesting paper on the possible top contenders for Amazon's second headquarters. Looks like New York and San Francisco would be the top prospects for it. I am not sure if New York strictly means the city or includes such outlying cities like Stamford and Jersey City, neither of which appears on the list. Then again there is a listing for Westchester (No. 20), which I assume is Westchester County, New York. New Haven appears as No. 19. I do have to question some of these though (Rochester at No. 9 and Syracuse at No. 17 ahead of Colorado Springs and Raleigh-Durham, where's Austin?). Where does Stamford fall? I would think higher than many of these. How should the politics of the city/state play into the decision? What do you think? Jay

I think the only downside to Stamford is proximity to a major airport.... It's 40 mins to LGA without traffic

All speculation. My money is on DC area due to Bezos' investments there, and the fact that I think it's doubtful to have 2 west coast HQ's, but we'll see. 2nd place speculation for me is Austin, good tech/business climate, and Whole Foods HQ.

I really think Amazon has known where they're moving all along, and just issued an RFP to get better tax breaks and incentives by pitting cities against each other.

Yep... northern Virginia. 2 major airports, mass transit, lots of land, booming economy, easy access by car, rail, plane or even boat to the entire east coast...

Mark my words..
