You know B Ingehleim is serious because they are NOT a noise making, stomp feet, political company. That official letter was uncharacteristic behavior and something they haven't done before. They are normally the quiet observer type. Clearly they are situationally aware. With One of their industry leading companions leaving they are now in the position of looking like an out of touch organization (and paying the CT premium for it) or moving to Boston too, with all their like-minded competitors.

It's not even just about appearances at this point, there is now even less then the already small amount of talent in this state with Alexion, Pfizer and BM-Squibb gone. Much of the experience in commercial biomedical and pharmaceutical was being bred and cross pollinated at these same now non-existent companies. Not good AT ALL.

This is also yet another of the few companies that can retain even a marginal amount of Yale graduates in state.GE was another huge one. Now, more than ever, when some yay-sayer shouts "well Yale is in CT", you can look him dead in the face and say "who cares". Absolutely nothing comes of it. We don't even have the quantity or quality of economy to retain their brains post graduation and new haven is a craphole. Yawnnnnn.

Lol like it makes a difference? Let's not fool ourselves into thinking anything stupid like CT using that money to pay down debt instead of eliminating tax payer funded grants to our towns schools. I bet ya that money gets used to make a Hartford a sanctuary ghetto.

This is a great example of what happens when the Govt gives out tax breaks to select companies. The other companies not selected come knocking looking for the same tax breaks.

What? This can't be. Glassdoor just rated Hartford one of the TOP 25 for jobs in 2017. AHEAD OF BOSTON??? It can't be. According to some posters here, Hartford's economy is dying. I guess that is not quite true. Jay

Just going off of what the artical said median base salary of 55k. And median home value of 233k... that is pretty much asking to be in debt. And this artical doesn't add in prop tax..

All well and good...surveys abound by the dozen. Fact is that companies are voting with their footprint, and Boston is emerging as a magnet.

Is this the same website that stated Torrington as one of the areas with the highest concentration of millionaires in the country?

No, that was Phoenix Marketing International. And it said that Torrington has the second highest concentration which we believe refers actually to Litchfield County not just the City of Torrington. Jay

It's using home prices as an approximation for cost of living. It's not factoring in property taxes or all the other costs that make Hartford expensive. That $233K house has an $8K property tax bill.
