Some good news. The state added 7000 new jobs in June. I am no economist but that seems like a lot for one month. Doesn't that sound really good?

No. Jobs numbers are seasonally adjusted to compensate for that. Same goes for November and December when stores hire for the holidays. Jay

Actually the proposal came from DEEP and would be used to fund the state's conservation program. Jay

The reporter who wrote this article doesn't know or flat out forgot that the "energy conservation initiatives like home energy audits and insulation improvements" was actually free and conducted by CL&P before. They could not keep up with demand and started to charge $75 for this energy audit, although I do think there is a waiver in place for low income households.

They are way off base on this one especially since some households do not have a choice other than heating oil. Every CL&P customer is already paying this "energy audit fee tax" so oil consumers would be getting taxed twice.

Really should have an 8% flat tax on bussinesses. Then charge a 2% tax for State parks/Greenways/Conservation on businesses with 100 more employees

Interesting thing is only about 30% relocated. The national average for a long distance hq move is 40-50%. COL scared many off, which is not startling as even though they were in pricey Scottsdale, Az its still far less expensive, especially in some burbs not so far away. My relatives new place, same size as Scottsdale one, is 50% more expensive.

Now that low % is great for Ct residents, as they must hire more than they expected to fill slots. Its bad for the 30%, as it means their workload first several months until new hires are up to speed is bigger than expected.
