Rhode Island is also very good if you want to stay near the water. A bit better job prospects in Providence than in Manchester/Keene/Nashua.

Keep quiet please. New Hampshire does not want anyone who has been exposed to toxic government policies. There is way too much risk of people bringing the very concepts they claim to want to leave behind with them.

Judging by recent state elections, that ship may have already sailed.

How so? In New Hampshire we elected a Republican state legislature and governor in 2016, we are fully red at the state level. The federal races were also very close but edged blue.

I was thinking of your previous governor and senator elections, I guess.

I'd say you are doing pretty well considering the high QOL here.

Now compared to Florida, yes, but then again---you're in Florida.
CT and Florida are about as far opposites and you're gonna get. Many people over-compensate and end up regretting it. It is wise to not go from one extreme to another. Some middle ground might work better. Virginia, NC, Delaware are good middle-of-the-road alternatives.

I agree. I have become very familiar with northern VA and it reminds me a lot of CT (only with less taxes).

Northern VA, with its high COL and QOL plus congestion -- very similar. So is NJ or MD.

CT and these are states with a 250 year history for State Govts. They have been piling up layer over layer of laws, regulations etc. Pls add Union movement for the last 100 years, and you have an issue -- especially if such regulations dampen private business growth.

Let me be the broken record again -- economic growth can heal many wounds.

But "economic growth" is a loaded term, and not compatible with current CT policies.

Less than one month CT new budget year start the state facing $2.3 billion dollars deficit still no budget pass or getting close to begin passed. Data has show close to 3 billion next year in red next year even higher in 2019 if state doesn't act now. The $2.3 billion may be $2.5 billion now pensions and lost revenue is one of biggest factor

The issue has been pretty much beaten to death by now. With the falling tax revenues we're probably going to see a pretty austere budget, if we are lucky. Anyone who thinks there won't be tax increases is fooling themselves.
