The same goes for Sikorsky. It’s long been a key employer in our state. I’m not sure why you feel the need to diminish these. Jay
They are both good employers, but this Jay, unlike EB & Sikorsky is an addition. A large, industrial one. That is the type we have not recruited INTO Ct in ages (I am talking industrial, 4 figure headcount, massive capital expenditure).

Far better addition than Malloy ever got us.

This is more of an downstream effect of the CHIPs act and reshoring of semiconductor manufacturing, not so much anything to do with the governor. There may be a headwind coming, however, where the US govt bans these big semi tool makers (ASML, LAM, AMAT, etc.) from selling into China. But Samsung, tsmc, and Intel US expansion will be good for these companies.

Output nationally has been horrendous. Manufacturing getting hammered. Consumer spending only thing keeping us afloat.

Ct & Wy were the outliers, as the next worst state lost 3.0%. 7 states added GDP in Q2, while many lost .1-.9%.

Horrible news. Timing especially as half the M & T firings are now happening, too.

Lots of layoffs in both Boston and NJ right now.

So this isn't CT specific.

But with these guys it's always worse in CT.

Remember the pandemic arguments:
If you brought up the hot RE market in CT, it was only because of the Covid pandemic.
If you brought up CT in line with nationwide crime spikes due to pandemic, only in CT it had nothing to do with Covid.
