...I think in the days and weeks to come the fire danger is going to be the real issue in many areas of the eastern USA if this pattern keeps up. As we head deeper into the May the Bermuda High will start building and push the core of the westerlies northward, which in turn could mean even less chances for rain (other than convective storms/tropical systems).

For now...there are just no large rain makers anywhere in the near term... high pressure and sunshine dominates. It has been nice though...

I think so. There's really 3 types of factors in the Spring (and maybe all seasons) that play a role in temps. Hills, Valleys, Coasts.

Valleys have warmer averages than the coasts. Hills have cooler averages than the valleys. But hills have warmer averages than the coast. I think this is because places like Danbury dont benefit from the cool sea breeze. The hills block the winds from reaching there? So it warms up a bit easier in Danbury.

Lets be lucky theres no wind threat to kick start some fires. Although I think I heard about a few brish fires already in CT

Looking at the latest GFS , it basically doesnt have any moisture in the area until a tiny amount next Wednesday which would be drizzle. Not good. Will check Euro later. We need rain! But with this blocking pattern and high pressure the chances are getting slimmer.

I had them in the ground this time last year... but today is the first day of hardening off. They're tired of being inside since March. lol

No wind is perfect for them.

Nice to finally see 70s widespread in CT now.

Yes, a perfect day indeed and hope to get out on my bike soon. I think we'll look back on this stretch of bone dry, crystal clear, perfect transition weather with fondness for years to come!

Nothing to worry about here. Just dropping to normals of low-mid 40s

Yes BDL hit 80

NWS shows rain (in fact, the only non-sunny weather) over the next 7 days only on Wednesday, and then it's 30% chance of showers......

Between March 22nd and today (May 3rd)…a period of 42 days…there has only been measurable rainfall at NWS Bridgeport on 8 days. NWS Bridgeport has not had a day with more than 0.25 inches of rain since April 12th! Sunshine, warm temps, and arid conditions seem to be dominating. So t seems we are having another sunny and dry spring in the Tri-State area.
If this keeps up it might start to look like this in the Tri-State area in a few decades - lol
