Big Storms showed on on the latest GFS for the 25th and 29th. RAIN STORMS. They go into the Great Lakes and push warm air up ahead of it into us. Still time to see if the storm comes up the coast instead of to Great lakes. or if there even is a storm. lol

yup a rather blase winter for us it seems. Those that like the really cold weather had their shot around Jan 3rd, and maybe a little bit in the upcoming days, or they can drive west to Minnesota where the whole state is supposed to stay below freezing I believe.

Once we get to mid February, this winter is pretty much licked. I'm not the biggest fan of winter, snow, ice , etc but when you really come down to it, maybe a month where the weather is really not nice for the cold haters, and we are coming to the end of that period quickly.

to me anyway, Christmas should be cold, so I don't mind the cold leading up to Christmas. By the end of January though things are looking up, and by Valentines day usually the worst as far as cold is behind us.

I enjoy these educated updates cam of flip flops by the weather services from rain to snow to rain again, etc etc. to very interesting indeed

Below freezing? In Minnesota that would be like all of CT being below 50-deg in January. The big deal is about it being below ZERO (Fahrenheit, not Celsius) all day statewide. In Minneapolis on average they have 1-2 days (I think the exact average is like 1.4 or something) days/year where the temperature stays below zero all day. But it hasn't happened in 4 years, an all time record there. That's supposed to break this weekend.

Some radars use a lower dbz value so it picks up any moisture in the air. Current radar showing snow over our heads but nothing is reaching the ground.

Farthest north so far is a drizzle/snow mix in parts of NJ...
