Cambium,

How are temps and precip looking in the longer range (7 to 21 days from now)?

I think we stay mostly in a progressive flow for next 2 weeks. That means a fast flow across the country. It means shots of cold and shots of warmth. It means a couple of storms passing through but fast and light.

Mid January is the time frame to watch for the next big storm.

It's another reload pattern... A time for the atmosphere to relax above us.

This week will be way below normal especially some lows, but warmup over the weekend.

Supression is the key word for this week. There's a storm in the mid section now but 2 things will happen before it gets here...

1. Appalacians break it apart.
2. Upper Level low in Canada will keep it to our south (supression). So it will stay cold and dry.

Radar showing snow moving eastward but will stay south of us and/or dissipate.

Its the new year and it figures we start off on a warm note. Upper 30s this morning but wait....it gets better.

Every single night for the last 17 nights its been above normal at BDR. And 22 of the last 24 also. There did manage to be a snowfall daily record in there though.

If you dont like winter, park yourself right in CT or the Northeast.

Current 7am temps.

Default January Thaw!

Euro weeklies out just ended winter!!!

I dont see winter for the next 2 weeks.

December 2012 was Bridgeport's 6th warmest!!
Windsor Locks was 10th warmest!

Wild swings being November was in the Top 10 coldest. And that we had a daily snowfall record broken in December.

I also dont see those single digits anymore this week unless I'm blinded by sweat & tears right now.

I bought a new snowblower, it's probably never going to snow again, lol! Seriously though, I don't mind if some of the ice patches in the driveway melt before the next storm, but winter better not be over yet.

looks pretty tranquil for the next 10 days, snow is nice to look at , I'm o/k with some more winter as long as we don't get a scenario like 2 winters ago with structures collapsing and ice dam damage ( I had quite a bit in my home). A lot of this stuff will probably melt within the next 10 days, at least off the roofs anyway, as we creep back up into the upper 30's lower 40's. So much for that really cold we were forecasted to get tomorrow and Thursday, looks to have moderated.

Only about 80 days till spring...be safe everyone...was slippery this morning outside.
