Lots of development made this happen and continued development will only increase CLE's stature:

I'm all for investing in infrastructure but do we really need the I-480 bridge to be 12 lanes (6 in each direction) ? And do we really need I-271 high speed lanes all the way down to Macedonia? I don't want to sound like an anti-govt curmudgeon but I think some of this stuff is unnecessary. The I-480 bridge was built in the middle 70s, I would think it could have lasted longer with more maintenance. But who knows, maybe the civies down in Columbus ran the numbers and it makes sense to replace. Sounds like a lot of money, $270M just for the bridge.

Being against any government spending will get you marked as an anti gov curmudgeon. Might as well embrace it.

You're right too. Complete waste of money.

ODOT loves spending on unnecessary road projects, just don’t ask them to spend any money on public transportation.

Regardless, bottom line is this article is great news.
