Trying to think if there's any other new things I need to see while in town, I feel like I remember reading somewhere that there was new stuff at Metroparks and Holden (Canopy Walk/Zipline), etc.. I wanted to check out Symon's new BBQ place, but the trail seems to have gone cold on that.
If you've never visited the Fifth Street Arcades, check them out. I like Barrio there. For retail and dining, the lesser arcades have lapped The Arcade.

There's a walkway (East 7th St.?) across Prospect Ave. to Progressive Field.

More good news for the 5th st arcades. I go to their Lorain Ave location often, definitely recommend this joint to everyone.

Restaurants for Phase 2 of the East Bank will likely open some time in late July. Apartments there have leases starting July 1. The new pizza joint in the Old Arcade won't open until late fall, according to a Cleveland Scene article. Symon's BBQ place is happening - he tweeted a draft of the menu and pictures of bbq roasters in the past few weeks. Hopefully it opens soon!

Heinen's is definitely a must see, and Barrio opened a new location on Prospect Ave downtown. Enjoy your trip!

Thanks WRNative and flee2thecleve. I think I have at least 3 points during my visit where I will be downtown, so at those times I will hit up Heinen's, Barrio, and Greenhouse Tavern (not new, but I've never been).

Has anyone heard of any potential development of the old Watermark restaurant on the east bank of the Flats and other buildings in close proximity?

This isn't news exactly, but I was in CLE last Thursday and visited Heinen's at E9th and Euclid. I'd say Heinen's has a smash success on their hands.

At 1PM, the place was bustling with lines at all the checkouts. I don't know how much actual grocery shopping was going on (maybe that happens outside of lunch hour) but it has to be the busiest carry-out/eat-in lunch place downtown. Wonderful to see so many Gen-Xers and Millenials on the downtown streets.
