If they extended the Green and Blue lines to the suburbs, then I don't see why not. What would be great is if they could extend the line to Solon. Over here, we have a railroad line that's been abandoned for about 10 years. It runs directly through Solon, and into downtown Solon, and it is in great shape. What's even better is that the railroad goes all the way to the E.55th Junction of Railroads, which is the same railroad that the green/blue lines already run on.

Trust me, the people in Solon who work in downtown would rather take the Rapid than drive through traffic and winter weather.

Yes, it is a bad idea, because of the cost.

Without the cost, it sounds like a great idea.

Unfortunately, cost matters but I don't see why not. I'd like to see a line going West along the coast through Lakewood, Rocky River, out to Westlake maybe. Even an extension off the Redline West into Berea to Strongsville would be amazing. I just feel like Strongsvillians would vote no on such a project and coming from a former Strongsville resident its suburgatury out there.

That would be a great idea. It would definitely benefit all the younger college kids in Berea who want to go to Ohio City, Downtown, UC, etc.

Now it would be cool to eventually connect Cleveland and Akron with a commuter rail.

If the goal is speed, I'm not opposed to BRT; rubber tires or steel wheels aren't so different. A dedicated right of way or exclusive lane is what is essential.

Cost be damned...the Blue line should go to Solon...Green Line should be extended...Red Line should go out to Mentor...spurs off the red line should go to Berea and Strongsville areas and also a line should go out through Lakewood, Rocky River, Westlake areas. Commuter rail should be built all the way through Akron to Canton.
