Hi,
My husband and I are moving from Houston to Cleveland and we are looking for a single family home in a pet-friendly neighborhood (we have 3 little dogs).
We've never been in Cleveland and we don't know wich places are better to live. We don't have any children and we'd like to stay as close as possible to Cleveland Clinic, but we are willing to drive until 30minutes to get to work.
I'll appreciated any help!
Magali

You can look at the Shaker heights area, Cleveland heights, (around conventry), Solon, Bedford Heights, university heights.....that was the east side...Now the west side, Lakewood, Rocky River, cleveland proper, ohio city...That's my list so far, lol

Just responded to your other post...where in Houston are you moving from? Or are there neighborhoods in Houston that you're looking for an equivalent for in Cleveland?

Thank you all, I'll be looking for houses in that neighborhood that you recomended. Unfortunally, Cleveland Hgts and Shaker Hgts have some restrictions regarding number of dogs in a house, it seems like it's against the law keeping more than 2 dogs in your home.... aff...

Na zdrowie,
I'm living in Medical Center area. I would like to find some neighborhood like Katy or Sugardland. I love Medical Center, but I couldn't afford renting a house here....

Thanks a lot everybody!!

I think you've gotten some good recommendations so far, but none of these places are anything like Sugarland or Katy which are much farther out on the suburban edge. I'm not familiar with the outer edges of Houston enough to give you an equivalent in the Cleveland area, maybe someone else can. I think your comment about being as close as possible to the Clinic led to alot of the inner ring suburbs and parts of Cleveland being mentioned. If you're not ruling out a more urban or older suburban area close the Clinic (and there are very nice areas nearby), one thing you won't have to worry about is affordability.

But, which neighborhoods would you recommend? Many people have recommended me to stay in east side because it seems be more safe. I don't know about that.... A friend of mine recommended me try to find a townhouse in Painesville, because is very safe and I wouldn't be worried about lawn and snow removal, what do you think? Is this city too far from Cleveland Clinic? Because I put the adress on google maps and it is about 40 min driving....

Default Check out Euclid (zip 44123)

I currently live in Euclid, i've been in cleveland and surrounding burbs my whole life and this is where i chose to purchase my first home. it's a great central location - clinic is downtown and only 15min wawy (3min from the freeway) and the city is right on Lake Erie so you have access to parks and the beach. i'd wouldn't purchase anything lower that 185th street and you should check out the cities revitilazation plans - big things coming for this neighborhood...boardwalks, more lake access, parks, etc. We also have alot of nice resturants, good schools, and it's very family oriented.

Good Luck.
