But, which neighborhoods would you recommend? Many people have recommended me to stay in east side because it seems be more safe. I don't know about that.... A friend of mine recommended me try to find a townhouse in Painesville, because is very safe and I wouldn't be worried about lawn and snow removal, what do you think? Is this city too far from Cleveland Clinic? Because I put the adress on google maps and it is about 40 min driving....
Are you looking for an area that has a dog park? I understand that you have smaller dogs but I do see small dogs at the parks often. I'd consider anyplace that offers dog parks nearby as a dog friendly area. On the eastside, South Euclid, Eastlake, Twinsburg and Cleveland Hts have dog parks. On the westside, Tremont, Brunswick, Lakewood and Medina have parks.

I don't think I'd recommend Painesville. The township is in decent shape, but the city itself is not in the best of shape. It has some issues with crime and decay. Also, coming from Texas, you may not want to deal with that drive in the winter as Painesville is in the snow belt. The heaviest snows occur east of I-271.

Thanks again!!! I already found a great single family home in Cleveland Heights, this house would be perfect, the owner allows my dogs, the house has a fenced in yard... but I'm afraid to sign a long term leasing and one day someone make a complaine about the number of dogs... I'm not american and I don't want any problem while I'm living here....

I think I will continue looking in that areas that you mentioned. I'm having good feelings about South Euclid and Tremont....

Thanks thanks thanks

Not sure what that means. All of us were "not american" at some point in our history.
Do you mean you are not an "official citizen"?

When you get to Cleveland make sure to check out Sergio's in University Circle and Sarava in Shaker Square. The chef/owner of both is from Brazil - the food isn't strictly Brazilian, more of a mix, but is excellent and the places are lot of fun. University Circle and Shaker Square are both neighborhoods in Cleveland close to the Clinic.
Here's the website:
Sergio's Restaurant, SARAVA, Brazilian, Italian, Seafood, Steaks, small plates, cross-cultural, cocktails, bar, patio, live music, University Circle, Shaker Square, Cleveland

By the way, there are areas in both of those neighborhoods that you might want to consider in looking for your house. Plus no dog limit in Cleveland!

Magnolia-Wade Park Historic District: This consists of a couple blocks of houses on the north end of University Circle (between Ashbury and Magnolia). The neighborhood is within a couple minutes walk of Case Western Reserve University, many of Cleveland's museums and cultural institutions, Rockefeller Park (walking paths, tennis courts, cultural gardens), the Cleveland Botanical Garden, Severance Hall (where the Cleveland orchestra plays), some great restaurants (including Sergio's) and much more. You could actually walk to the Clinic if you wanted to.

Ludlow and Larchmere: These neighborhoods are south (Ludlow) and west (Larchmere) of Shaker Square and are both split between Cleveland and Shaker Heights, although Larchmere is mostly Cleveland. They're both within walking distance to Shaker Square with its shops and restaurants and the Rapid (train) lines that go west to downtown Cleveland and the west side and east to Shaker Heights. There's also a bus route from Shaker Square to the Clinic. The neighborhoods are close to the Shaker Lakes park system with its running paths, lakes, and nature center. Larchmere also has its own restaurants, cafes, and shops (along Larchmere Blvd.).

I found some links to help give you an idea of where these are:
University Circle : Find Yourself in the Circle
Shaker Square in Cleveland, Ohio - welcome
Ludlow Community Association

Anyway, just a thought given your dog issue in Cleveland Heights.
