Dallas police are asking for help identifying two men who robbed an illegal gambling hall and fatally shot a doorman late Friday.

Warren Cooksey, 41, was shot in the head about 11:45 p.m. at a storefront in the 9200 block of Skillman Street, off LBJ Freeway in far northeast Dallas.

He was taken to Baylor University Medical Center, where he died the next day.

The suspects, described as black men in their early to mid-20s and between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-8, initially entered the business and were escorted out by Cooksey. The men then returned with a handgun and demanded money from the patrons. Cooksey was shot in the head as they fled.

One man was wearing a navy pullover shirt with red stripes, long jean shorts and a Texas Rangers ball cap. The other was wearing a light-colored ball cap and a T-shirt with a light-colored shirt over it.

Several of the patrons inside the gambling hall left before officers could interview them, police said. Authorities released a surveillance video of the incident in hopes that someone could identify the suspects.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $5,000 reward for information leading to charges of the suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call Dallas police at 214-671-3632 or Crime Stoppers at 1-877-373-8477.

actually it would have been ummm NYC with 8 million ppl. The highest murder rates those cities ever reached was 33-34 per 100 k. They had the same rate.

Why don't you check your "facts" before you post, last year murders in Prince George's were about 90, this year so far it's 57.

Montgomery has had like 10 so far this year and like 17 last year. About the same with Fairfax, in fact it even had more than Montgomery for most part of the year last time I checked.
