^^ I think DT Philly stands pretty well on its own with the exception of a few detractors. Some will like it more than others...

Is this thread asking for cities with BEAUTIFUL SKYLINES or BEST (meaning places I'd like to be) DOWNTOWNS?

Are we supposed to be judging by the look & beauty? Or are we supposed to be judging by things to do, food, fun, entertainment?

If we're going by beauty, I'm going to have to change my list up big time and add Pittsburgh like Dub King.
I LOVE Pittsburgh's skyline... Still not a very exciting city to me though...

1. New York City (Manhattan)
Times Square, the Village, Broadway, 5th Ave, Madison Ave, 32nd St., Ground Zero, Chinatown, Little Italy, etc...

2. San Francisco
Market Street, The Embarcadero, Pier 39, The Warf, Ghiradeli Square, North Beach, Chinatown, etc...

3. New Orleans
French Quarter, French Market, the Casino, The Superdome, Louis Armstrong Park,

4. Washington, DC
Georgetown, The Mall, The FREE Smithsonian Museums, Jack's Boathouse, Dupont, Verizon Center area, K Street, Connecticut Ave, etc...

5. Chicago
The Loop, Navy Pier, Miracle Mile, Grant Park, The Chicago River, Shedd Aquarium, etc...

6. San Diego
The Gaslamp District, Seaport Village area, Horton Plaza, Petco Park, Balboa Park area,

7. Seattle
Pike's Market, Union Square, The area around the Space Needle, The Monorail area,

8. Philadelphia
Pats vs Gino's (sort of South Philly), The Rocky Steps, South Street,

9. San Antonio
The Riverwalk, The Alamo, that mall area,

10. Baltimore
The Inner Harbor, Fell's Point area, Little Italy, National Aquarium, PowerPlant

Honorable mention:
11. Austin
12. Boston
13. Memphis
14. Dallas
15. Miami
16. Denver
17. Atlanta
18. Milwaukee
19. Los Angeles
20. Houston

*Las Vegas & Honolulu don't count in my list because it's not the downtown area that everyone visits. If the Vegas Strip & Waikiki were apart of those city's downtowns, they'd be toward the top easily.
Where's San Jose? San Jose should be at least the top 3 or top 5. Are you ignorant? It's definitely not worst than LA, Atlanta, Houston, Memphis, Miami, Milwaukee or Detroit. If it was, people would never have moved to San Jose. It's the 10th largest in the country.

That is a very good question, because I'm not certain where it is, either. I'm pretty sure I've heard of it though.

Oh, you missed it too, huh? I ended up finding it on some list, it was right up there with the ranks of Fort Myers, Florida and Billings, Montana. I will try to find that list later.

You got no authority to list best downtowns since you have no knowledge of many cities, including San Jose. No credibility!

Yeah, not including Boston in a "fun downtown" list is simply criminal.
