in Mass:
I-90 (Massachusetts Turnpike) from the Ted Williams Tunnel, which is the approach to Logan Airport back west to exit 9 (I-84 Interchange). Rush hour or holiday, this 80 mile stretch might take about 3-5 hours to drive, like bumper to bumper stuff. Also as you get cloer to exit 9 you realize that everyone is either from CT/NY/NJ/PA. I-90 is the only east-west highway serving a densly populated state of 7 million. There will be traffic.
I know the I-95/128 beltway around Boston is bad during rush hour, and I've heard I-93 from Boston up to the New Hampshire line is horrific as well.
I-95 (travels through Westchester Co., The Bronx, Upper-Manhattan, & New Jersey, it's almost always on the news and constantly at a stand still, it contributed to high astma rates in The Bronx as well.
I really think it's I-95 (New England Thruway, Cross Bronx, New Jersey Turnpike).
I-95 is probably every city on the East Coast's busiest highway. From Boston to Miami.
I-35 in Texas probably beats the other major highways
For what? Traffic flow? Congestion?
I-35 is way too skinny in most parts. It needs to be widened and/or have a heavy line commuter rail integrated with it connecting SA, ATX, & D/FW all together.
US 59 (Southwest Freeway) and US 290 (Northwest Freeway) here in Houston. The new I-10W (Katy Freeway) stays heavy almost all the time (traffic is moving, but it's heavy).
Location: northern Vermont - previously NM, WA, & MA

In Albuquerque it's I-40 from the west side to the Big I at I-25, followed by I-25 n North ABQ around Paseo del Norte. Though ABQ doesn't have a lot of traffic the Big I (junction of I-25 and I-40) mixes around 300K vehicles a day.
