I lived in Florida several years ago. Although wasn't a horrible experience (some on this board paint as the portal to Hell), I prefer Pennsylvania. I just recently moved to the southwestern part of the state, but where I was before (Clarksburg, WV which is about 80 miles away) isn't that radically different. I like it so far. I moved to PA for a better job (yes, good jobs exist in southwestern PA, they are hard to find though).
I like PA's mountains and overall scenery though. FL is a bit too flat for my tastes. Also PA is alot closer to home and more familiar.
It's seems that many people dislike the flat terrain of Florida.....and those Q-TIPS that we call trees/palms.
I understand....wondering what other people think...seems many Fl. residents want to move but the current real estate market is terrible here, otherwise we would be trying to move too.
Florida. I was not impressed by Philly (except for the cheese steak), Pittsburgh seemed like only a slighty nicer version of Detroit to me and the middle of the state was a very boring mile after endless mile of a 55 mph speed limit.
Cold, snow, landlocked, too many hills, older buildings. And PA has far less career opportunities in my field than Florida does.
The flatness of Florida is a positive for me, I dislike hills and hate mountains.....even worse when there is snow. Flat is simple and easy, and I prefer that.

Yet you live in Fort Myers, possibly one of the blandest cities in Florida with a horrendous unemployment rate.
