In Spite of most cities doing way better than 2020 to 2022 in homicides YTD. (Though not pre COVID levels)
I wonder what cities besides D.C are doing worse or at least on par with 2020-22 homicides YTD
Dallas might be one of them. I also haven't seen any updates for Portland and Seattle but earlier this year they were off to a rough start. If not worse than 2022, they are nowhere near the pre-COVID levels.
Yes, it's been very bad this year. The current mayor is a 38 year old who is interested in anything but public safety, mostly his aspirations to be Obama 2. Anyway, there were 13 people shot over the weekend with 3 killed. There were 3 shootings downtown over the weekend, including in the Flats, the premiere entertainment district in Cleveland. All the while, the Cleveland Police Academy will graduate its smallest class ever soon (12), soon to be outdone by their next class (currently stands at 9). Help is not on the way.

Not sure if they include justified but Cleveland sitting at 119 homicides might rank higher than St. Louis
