I am a little shocked that nobody has voted for Miami in the poll. Miami's skyline is transforming faster than any in the US at the moment. There are nothing but cranes constructing new buildings everywhere. Miami already has an impressive skyline but in 10 years it will much more than it is now.
Here is the link to the Downtown Miami Pictures thread on SkyscraperCity. Just scroll backward through the pages to get some really fantastic shots of the evolving new Miami skyline.
I see Miami has gotten no votes whatsoever compared to some other cities even though we have the 3rd biggest skyline in the country on the rise even as I speak, so gotta get the word out, now that I can upload pics.

Do you have to post so many pictures? Especially the same ones you've posted everywhere else.
Well, since Miami hasn't gotten any votes at all. Wasn't sure you had looked elsewhere.
Miami's skyline is indeed impressive and beautiful. But I wouldn't call it "powerful" which is the point of this particular thread. To me, a bunch of high-rise apartment buildings and seaside hotels isn't nearly as "powerful" as a bunch of high-rise commercial and financial towers.
So for that reason I think New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, San Francisco, and even Charlotte have more powerful skylines than Miami.

Well, of course, everybody is entitled to their own personal opinion, but the third largest skyline in country is more than a bunch of high-rise apartment buildings and seaside hotels. Let me just quote what someone said on the "Miami and Chicago Skyline" thread.
"I was reading this book that ranked US cities per economic performance and importance in the world economy in a bookstore near the University of Chicago...it had cities ranked per size of the circle around the city......the biggest ones were around SF, LA, NY, Chicago, and, drumroll....Miami.....they consider it huge in terms of economic importance for the usa and the world. Maybe that is why the skyline looks like Chicago..."
This is regardless of anybody's personal opinion, but we're not finished down here anyway. We won't be finished with the new Miami until the middle of the next decade.

Lets not get carried away chief.Miami's skyline is starting to evolve but if you looked at the skyline from the north or south direction it is virtually non- existent. Its great if you are a dolphin bobbing a mile off shore but get a grip with Miami looking like Chicago. This skyline is the antithesis of powerful.I'm just not a fan of the sprawled out popsickle stick skylines,I need some density to take a skyline seriously.
Statistics Have completely nothing to do with how powerful it looks.
