NoCal is nice but not enough to cover the ugly strip malls that go into the desert in SoCal. PA, NY, NJ are superior.

You are dead wrong about that.

Upstate New York, especially the southern tier region, is almost exactly like Pennsylvania.

On the other hand, it has very little in common with northern New Jersey. :/

Upstate NY is like PA, Ohio, even Vermont or Connecticut depending on where you are, but not very much like New Jersey at all. Any similarities with Jersey are strictly downstate.

This is a joke, CA is a better state than all of the boswash combined, people go out to the northeast for business and thats pretty much it, and oh yeah go see some skycrapers in NYC or museums in DC, other than that there is no reason to even be out there, especially as a tourist, CA has 3 world class cities offering more to tourists and not to mention the weather, the scenery, the laid back atmosphere, it's the reason it's the most visited state out of the 50, face it eastcoasters CA is where you wish your cities could be transplanted to, its the golden child, it is the most hated state well because it's where "you would like to be", don't get me wrong northeast is a clear #2 when it comes to regions, though I will say that the midwest gives you guys a good run for your money.

The N/E would never have better weather.

However, I wonder if a super-sized PA would come close to being as broke as that west coast joke.

please expand on this statement. i actually find parts of upstate NY and PA to be very similar to part of NNJ (for better or worse).

New York, PA just sounds weird... Just as weird as Philadelphia, NY would sound.
