Moderator cut: orphaned quote and comment

It is a fact that El Paso & Dona counties have 100k more than Albuquerque's 4 county MSA.
It is a fact that both counties will be getting around 80k soldiers and their relatives by 2013.
It is a fact that if you drive from El Paso to Las Cruces from the 478 road which is a couple of miles west of I-10 you will see continous patches of population with towns like Anthony, Berino, Vado, Mesquite, Mesilla until you get to Las Cruces.

Let's also ignore Juarez, with almost 2 million people separated by the same thing that separates the eastern and western parts of Albuquerque. Keep spinning all you want.

Like I said before....you can include it all you want. That means including the 1,600 murders in 2008 and being labeled the MURDER CAPITAL of the world!!!

Wrong again!! They both look about the same but one is offcially recognized, but not for long. As much as it pains some haters! What about the part that 1/4 of Dona Ana County's population sits right next to El Paso?? Do you refute that as well??

El Paso-Dona Ana 953,000 that is fact.
80,000 more trough BRAC that is fact.
Albuquerque metro with 4 HUGE counties gobbling 1/4 of the state of New Mexico pop. 835,000 that if fact.

Still waiting for the "Bigger Projects" bud, I already posted some of mine but still waiting on yours or is that it? Mesa del Sol and the 12k arena downtown??

Got to agree with you. I've driven the Albuquerque-Belen route. Lots of open space there. Don't see a lot of true METRO area there. Definitely no more developed than the El Paso-Las Cruces corridor. People in Albuquerque have an inferiority complex, so they need to belittle other areas, including El Paso. It's really pointless to present facts.

Did you know they have a train now?

Im not be-littling at all just stating facts.....I think you are the one with the inferiority complex considering I've stated facts while some people here BLOAT the facts, or are imagining things the way they want them to be.
It's cut and dry, however someone here keeps posting what he thinks is going to happen. It's actually quite funny!
Once again from Belen to Bernalillo is considered a METRO area......El Paso to Las Cruces is NOT!!!! show me some hard facts that state otherwise and Ill agree....till then ONLY THE FACTS.......DREAMERS!

Tone it down and keep it civil, folks. I won't wade into this thread a third time.

I am moving it to General US, because there is so much info about Albuquerque, it's getting off-topic for the El Paso forum.

Why don't we just say that Albuquerque's geographically large MSA has fewer people than the combined and adjacent MSAs of El Paso and Las Cruces, although they cover a much smaller geographic area? Can we all agree on that?
