[quote=little elmer;6130673]Million dollar question, my friend - how did Abraham, Noah, Nathan, David, Solomon, Samuel, Elijah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Jonah, Haggai, Zechariah, Mary, Jesus, Saul of Tarsus and others hear His voice? To think that He cannot commune with His people is incorrect.[/quote
These people all lived before the completion of the canon. We have ALL that we need to know in the words of the Bible. God HAS spoken!
People are still dying...and people are still crying...and we haven't seen Jesus come down.
There is no more crying and no more dying in His kingdom which is NOT of this world! Your concept of seeing Jesus "coming" down is a man-made doctrine not found in the Scriptures. In the OT (which I have studied, BTW), the mention of clouds is often linked with God's "coming" in judgment against a nation or people through the instrumentality of other nations or people. He did not come down physically and visibly and neither did Jesus.
All Israel is saved--all true Israel, i.e. the Church, made up of those circumcised in their hearts! We are the spiritual seed of Abraham thus ALL Israel IS saved.
There is still dying in this world; there is still sin in this world but not in the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus came and put an end to the power of sin. He did not put an end to sinning. Jesus put an end to the sting and victory of death. He did not put an end to dying!
Some people agree with him, others don't, still others think of him as a kook, but Jack Van Impe sure is entertaining!
