aionios is definitely used in John 3:16 and in Matthew 25:46.

So, you were making your statement apart from its source in Matthew 7:13-14...

Mat 7:13, Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Mat 7:14, Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Apparently you think that the destruction that Jesus is speaking of is only temporal.

Well, we know this much...at the very least it applies to the sinner for an entire age...

I think that, in that, we are talking more than a millennium.

Once again, there are only two places in the New Testament which use the word for eternal (aidios).

And, neither are talking about eternity.

I don't have a problem if you disagree or if you are afraid of dying.
You can follow the mythologies of an underworld - all you want to.

An age can be as little as a day, a lifespan or that of a thousand years.

No, I am not afraid of dying.

For me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.

There is clearly an underworld defined in holy scripture, in Luke 16:19-31.

Most ages in history have generally lasted for more than 1,000 years.

It does bring up a question, however.

We are currently in the age of grace; which will be cut short by the Great Tribulation.

Does age-abiding life only last until the age of grace is over?

I think that that is a scary prospect.

Because, according to John 5:24, "age-abiding" life begins from the moment of first faith.

So, whatever age you are in when you receive age-abiding life, when it is over, your life is over.
