He is not different from any of the other preachers who want to separate you from your money. Some take the "beat you over the head with the bible" approach.
Mr. Osteen does it with a lighter touch, comes across as mister Milquetoast but his motives are just the same, he wants your money and he will quietly take it from you.

He's a lot different. He takes no pay for his work at the church he preaches at.
You should look into the facts before you post lies.
What does money matter anyway. Why would you care?
There have been SO MANY scandal and dubious wealth tarnished televangelists, that it's hard to take any of them seriously.
It's amazing that Osteen fills a mega church in America's 4th largest city...you would except more buy-in in someplace less diverse. I find him a little smarmy.
The same goes for the previous Catholic priest in Miami who got caught on the beach with his girlfriend, to whom he is now married...and immediately became an Episcopal. That is, after being on TV and the airwaves putting on shows on "how to" live a Catholic life.
For people that are addicted to bible quote preaching / without the living... probably not your guy.
True.
He gets slammed for being a motivaional speaker. If this forum is anything to go by, christianity needs motivating out of its sin consciousness,it's unhealthy fear of God,its belief that believing the right things is pleasing to God,and it's only real claim is a lot of promises of happiness and heaven after death.
Why are you cast down my soul ?. I have come that you might have life, and life more abundantly. Christian now is the day of your salvation.
sure he is about $$$ but which of them are not? I never heard a full sermon, but he seems more like an inspirational speaker. I hear someone say he never opens the bible to quote from. I am just amazed at the books these guys come out with, they are usually more about how to be nice.

Hey Torpedos.
There is nothing wrong in being nice.. It's a good attribute to possess.
