First off, this is good news but yeah it's still higher than pre-covid but wayyyy better than >600.

The other thing I would note was that this wasn't all due to COvid. A lot of the soft policing coincided due to BLM.

I like some of the needed reforms, others were just awful and thankfully Kim Foxx is leaving.

P.S. They still haven't upgraded charges against the car thieves that stole the Kia and crashed into the couple with the young baby killing it. Misdemeanors. I still suspect some sort of clout connection there but maybe that's just a natural bias when considering things in Chicago.

Law enforcement is still enforcing murder laws. Police are barely enforcing other laws so those figures are rising.

Now do robberies and carjackings.

Good day and Happy Friday, everyone,

Talk about "picking your poison!"

I read yesterday that Franco's Ristorante in the Armour Square/Bridgeport area had been broken into, and that it was the 2nd time in the last 4 months.

This summer there was an armed robbery during the daytime near Grand Avenue and Ogden Avenue.

We know people paid protection to the Outfit in those areas, but since the Outfit has been out of power the last 10 + years, I think THOSE crimes I mentioned would not have taken place while they WERE in power.

As I said, pick your poison....

Have a great afternoon, and weekend.

That, in very general layman's terms, means the crime is now being focused more on upper income Chicagoans, as opposed to it being more contained in 'da hood, as it was in years past. There is now another outlet for the frustrations maybe! Hopefully the Johnson Administration knows where it's bread is buttered and does something about this.

Default Will the United Center crime levels be cleaned up before DNC in summer 2024?

Being the crime sticky thread, can we expect the crime rates for the United Center be decreased in time for the 2024 DNC convention. There are still drive-by shootings, robberies and assaults. Shoplifting could be tolerated but the national convention will expect safety for the delegates.

Here is an example of recent crime spree over Thanksgiving, right next to the United Center. Can things get better?

Good morning, I just read an armed robbery took place in a tavern ( I think it was West Town area) and the tavern AND its 11 patrons were robbed.... Robbers ran on foot.

Crime seems to pay.
