They finally caught and charged someone seriously for the car theft fatal accident a year ago.

The other 2 got misdemeanors.

Not where I grew up in Illinois.

Weird huh? Lotsa poor kids did great in my small town school. Heck, we produced lots of very educated people.

It's really more about family.

I am getting a few groups of Chicagoans coming through southeast Wisconsin. Yesterday, 4 went through court in the Waukesha County jail. Bails ranged from $750 and higher, into the thousands.

Keep your Chicagoan thieves out of my State!

Lol

This article is a few weeks old but it still gets the point across. Imagine trying to run a business in Chicago these days.

"Inside SVRN, a luxury retail store in the West Loop, smooth black stone materials adorn the floors and ceilings, creating an immersive and serene shopping experience that feels far away from the bustle of the busy neighborhood outside.
. . .
"But the thoughtfully designed brick-and-mortar store is taking physical and financial hits after a burglary on Dec. 12 that was the fourth time this year thieves drove a car into the storefront to steal merchandise. Kim is one of several small business owners in the city who have been hit by multiple smash-and-grab burglaries involving cars in a short time span, despite increased physical security such as shutters and riot glass for windows.
. . .
"[Store owner Sabrian] Sledge was forced to move Flee Club, which he opened with his best friend Darris Kelly, out of its home near the United Center after it was looted in the wake of the George Floyd verdict in 2020.

"The business owners settled on relocating to Taylor Street in Little Italy at the suggestion of a friend who owned a barber shop nearby. Even after moving, Flee Club has operated under a constant threat of burglaries.

"Sledge said their corporate insurance provider dropped the business last year after they racked up large insurance claims due to a series of smash-and-grabs that demolished their storefront time and again.

"'It is a myth that there is insurance on retail theft. There is not,' [Illinois Merchants Retail Association Rob] Karr said, adding that business owners must weigh reporting damage against the risk of their insurance costs rising or their policy being dropped altogether."

Shop owners targeted by smash-and-grab burglars want solutions: ‘We just got to hope that our city can do better’

I guess some are ignoring your own local news. There have been arrests made for illegals (yeah that's what they are) promotion of prostitution and selling products and services not authorized. There is now a Venezuelan car theft ring cited on the norther border as well of Illinois/Wisconsin. Kids sadly have also been involved in some cases. If Trump (is fortunate enough) to get back in, many if not most that came in illegally won't be here long. Hopefully Majorkas will get sent packing that's for sure, he's screwed this entire mess up. That border needs to be solid and enforced with our laws in place. The whole "sanctuary city" concept is warped as it is. This country is really in for it come November regardless. We've never been more divided in our history since the Civil War. And the media is fanning the flames........

Default U. of Illinois woman attacked: GUY JUST SITS AND WATCHES?!?

Good morning,

I could really appreciate you all helping me calm my nerves, team!

Did I see this correctly? A young woman is attacked by a man, and YES with a gun, and mere feet from them is a guy sitting on the grass who just watches, shifts in his seat, turns away a bit, and continues to watch?!?

My wife and I both commented that during the video. We were appalled.

With that being said, the dude DID have a gun and it's hard for me to say for certain what I would do in that situation. Do you intervene and potentially escalate it to a shooting? Do you run? IDK what I would do, but I'd like to think I would do SOMETHING instead of just sit there.

I think I would just freeze up. I saw some cops tackle a guy on the street (hot pavement) and I just sat there stunned. I looked around and everyone had their cameras out. Never even crossed my mind to do that. I have no fighting skills so I would be of no use. My older sister took care of 2 of my bullies when I was in grade school so I would have more faith in her to possibly do something.

ChiGuy2.5, good afternoon,

I'd like to think that even with a weapon being produced, a, forgive me for saying it, A REAL MAN would have still intervened on a man who is attacking a woman.

The idea would be to intervene with the quickness BEFORE the weapon could be used/discharged. That poor excuse sits and watches it for over 30 seconds, easily.

Again, these are MY feelings.

Thanks for sharing.
