There are a billion of them, in fact there are two books devoted to this, "Return to the Scene of the Crime" and "Return to the Scene of the Crime 2."

I'll give you a couple.

The building where there's an H&R Block on Chicago and Milwaukee is the same building that housed the bowling alley where the Outfit had Jack McGurn, Capone's former #1, assassinated. McGurn was likely the architect of the massacre, though not a shooter, and was essentially the character they made 'Frank Nitti' to be in The Untouchables. (Nitti was always more of a numbers guy in real life, not an assassin. David Mamet combined the characters.)

There's a certain business over on Grand that was formerly a place called Rose's Sandwich Shop where the mob finally killed Richard Cain. Cain was one of the inspirations for the Scorcese film "The Departed." He was a made member of the mob who, unbelievably, rose to the level of Chief Investigator for the Sheriff's Department. Later things went sour. The mob knew he was having lunch there. A couple guys in ski masks with shotguns came in, forced everyone eating to line up against the wall and said it was a robbery, then blew Cain's brains all over the wall.

Finally, Sam Giancana's former headquarters, the Armory Lounge, is still standing in Forest Park. Same building, it's called Andrea's.

Most of the interesting Capone stuff is gone with the exception of the Green Mill.

I think we have to include John Wayne Gacy's house on West Summerdale in Chicago. The original structure was torn down but supposedly now a new home has been built on the site.
