I tend to go with Leroybrowntown.

(I am exceedingly bored today.)

This whole issue can be resolved by having Jesse rephrase his post to just ''city'' and then there won't be any misunderstanding.

That's a good one...so why aren't any Steak-n-Shakes in Leroybrowntown?

I guess it depends on what you consider to be "bad sections." "High crime areas" would be one term, if that fits your definition. Using "inner" to mean "bad" doesn't make much sense at all, though, and you appear to be the only person on this thread interpreting it that way.

We are a self-righteously pedantic bunch!
And restaurants tend to overlook the center of Chicago? Could it be Red Robin etc. just aren't there yet or see a need for one at State/Division.

Because Jim Croce hates milkshakes.

I think this inner city hullabaloo has left you about 4 pages behind on this thread.

This.

No one seems confused as to Jesse's meaning other than Kamms.

Steak and Shake. I ate once at one of those and later had serious gastrointestinal problems that required me to visit urgent care clinic.

I noticed Chinese and Thai restaurants are much better than in suburbs. Higher quality but also little more expensive, though some may surprise you and may find one of the cheapest in one of the most expensive neighborhoods.

Why would u want to go to Mcdonalds or stake and shake, when you can eat at much nicer place N Burgers that has 2 or 3 locations in downtown. Why would u settle for Einstein Bagels when you can eat better sandwiches at NYC Bagel deli?

I noticed there is almost none of Pizza Hut restaurants in the city. Even some in suburbs closed. When it comes to pizzerias like Rosati's there is no comparison.
