lol he put Keef on here ,BANG BANG but yeah the majority of Black Chicagoans came from Mississippi and the Deep South overall and thats by no means a bad thing ,it actually presents us with a richer heritage than lets say our East and West Coast siblings and for the most part the Mid-West is just a northern version of the South so a lot of us (whether white or black) are pretty country too but that adds to our culture

The Midwest is not a Northern version of the South. Most of it's inhabitants are not from the South originally.

I understand a large portion came from Europe Michigan(Dutch) Minnesota(Scandinavian) and so forth but that mixed with the Southern influx made us country city folk lol which is why were so blanced out compared to the other regions ,we have a little bit of everything

IMO, the south has had more influence on Chicago than Chicago has had on the south.

From my personal experience, people are people. There may be a different accent, people may walk faster we may live around big buildings with traffic but there isn't that big of a difference.

I noticed when living in Memphis, Chicagoans who relocate make it sound as if memphis was so much worse in terms of sophistication and other things. Now that I've experienced what I've experience, there isn't 2 cents worth of difference between the people.

Now the city has a lot more to offer but people are the same.

Yeah, but isn't that like saying People in DC are similar to those in Philadelphia?

Of course there's going to be some similarities as they're close geographically.
