If you're caught carrying 15 grams or less, you'll get a ticket now. You can still be arrested if you're near a park or school carrying it, or smoking it in public.

This will free up cops to fight more serious crime and will save the city money too

A decision by the city council that makes sense? I'm at a loss for words.

This is hardly what I would call decriminalization. It's a step in the right direction, though.

I would say decriminalization is a misnomer sometimes. But yes, I agree..it's a step in the right direction. It's funny when you learn about why it's illegal.

Will it? I think cops will be glad to get the message that they can stick to just busting people doing it totally flagrantly, like at Blues Fest.

Now, if they can somehow adopt "scratch and sniff" technology into the speed zone cameras so they can ticket you by smelling your weed fumage, totally new ballgame.

Ya know, I'm not a fan of marijuana at all. Its just as bad as any other drug.

People that use it can't use it in public (Since its illegal to do so), so they become hermits on a Friday night and sit at home instead.

I can't tell you how many times in high school that people I knew would pass up doing fun stuff, because they felt that they couldn't smoke pot there. They always chose their stash of pot over their friends. The only way you could hang out with them is if you went to where they were at. No way would they meet up somewhere with you.

Pot turns people into clueless creatures and it gets annoying after the first 5 minutes of being around them. Especially if you don't smoke pot.

People are already clueless creatures for the most part. Pot is not required.
