After gm's ban on Pontiac Olds AND Buick in racing alot of racers were forced to go to other companies. (yeah i know, i'll hear from the chevy guys it was across all divisions of gm, but the facts are that chevy got to keep their racing programs and the proof is the chevy sponsered racers after jan., 63).
M/T was just one of them caught in the gm ban. He had a good history with Ford also, but not the hands down show up and rule the race like he did with his Pontiacs. Still one of the all time very best engine developer ever.
