To me, it depended on the year. Electra name was used from 1959-1990 and Ninety-Eight name was used from 1941-1996.
I too liked the Electras more than the Ninety-Eight for most years, but from about 1967-70, I liked the Ninety-Eight better than Electra, but by 1971, it was back to Electras for me and pretty much like that until its demise.
I did also like other years of the Ninety-Eights, such as 1959-60, 1968-70, 1971-1973 and 1985-1990.
1959 and 1973 are my favorite Electras... here is ONE of my favorite models of the Electra... the '59 Electra 225.

I have a really hard time deciding what I liked between the pre-1965 Electra's and the 98's but from 1965 to 1970 I liked the Electra's better, from 1971-74 I liked the 98's better and from 1975-76 I liked the Electra's better but from 1977-79 I liked the 98's better and from 1980 onward I liked the Electra's better.
My favorite years for the 98's are 1965-66 and 1971-74 and my favorite years of the Electra's are 1967-70 and 1975-76
edited to say that on your photo it was rare for a 1959 vehicle to have 2 side mirrors

Reason: Forgot to post something
My parents had a 1961 Buick Electra 225 convertible and my dad did not like how hard it was to heat and cool. They traded it after 1 yr for a 1964 Olds 98 and kept it for 10 yrs. I was young then and it was just a car to me but now would love to have the Buick now,
I like the Olds . My 65 98olds is my favorite one. Also had a 62 & 68 drop top . The 65 425 engine was very strong, i beat that car daily . Never did anything but tune up-oil change and 1 valve cover job on it. Well the brakes every 6 month. The most trouble free car that i,ve owned. The 62 had a 394 super rocket engine with the old slim-jim trans ,it was a pretty good car too. That 394 was pretty quick too. Blew that engine, but had a lot of fun when it was right. 68 Ninety Eight was a great car too. Put starfire exhuast manifolds on it ,and a spread bore Holley carb recurved the distrubitor. That drop top was pretty fast, but the 65- 425 would beat it every time. Also
I had a 68 Electa 225 and I've had a 98. I like the Buick better, but older models. Haven't had the opportunity to play in the newer ones.
