We've been in Fieldstone Farm since August and we are very pleased. Centex has been very diligent, and we have met a ton of great people.
A neighborhood is what you make of it.

Don't know if it helps but we have built with Centex and would build with Centex again in a heartbeat.

We are moving in the neighborhood in Feb... Dumb question, but will the elementary school change from Porter Ridge to Poplin for the 09-10 year? The Union Co. BOE website is a little confusing and I can't find info. as to if they are opening the school to all grades or in phases? He currently is in 3rd grade and I have a daughter in 5th... are there many kids in the neighborhood?

I don't live there (YET), but we're in the process of getting in there. My house just sold in St. Louis, and we're about to go in and get a house started in Fieldstone Farms real soon. So, I've been doing a lot of recon there. Basically, I drive around that place enough to be qualified as a stalker. I've seen kids running around and playing on numerous occasions. I have two daughters who will be 4 this summer, so having kids in the neighborhood is a big plus for us.

jstevens44 - I'll wave to the blue Suzuki if I see it. I'm always puttering around the yard, you'd be surprised that more than a couple of people who are just looking around here stop in front of the house and ask me questions about the neighborhood. I think thats a good sign.

Pickles McGee -
You don't need to worry about a lack of kids in Fieldstone Farms, there are plenty of all ages here. We have kids on all sides of us.
As far as schools go, I couldn't tell you about phases, but it is a good bet your 3rd grader will be going to the new school in Sept., as far as I know all the elementary kids parents up to 5th here have been advised their kids will be transfering from Porter Ridge to the new school, including my 3rd grader.

To those who live there now. According to the Centex website, one of the standard features of a Centex home is an Energy Usage Monitor. Did you get one of those with your home at Fieldstone Farm? If so, does it work? Just curious.

I don't believe so, never heard of it.

Nope, never heard anything of it, but we moved in here when they first opened & have one of the lower priced models so maybe that has something to do with it...

If you go to Centex.com, they have it listed as one of their "standards", so I was curious.

They have changed the standards since we purchased a year ago. The carpet quality for the standard has been upgraded is one thing I know for sure. My mom was her looking around and got a list of the "standards" and we compared it to my mine when I bought the house and there a few differences.
