^^ Now that's funny right there. Article states he ran for Judge in 2006 and finished last. He will probably put his campaign costs on his credit card and if he loses, just declare bankrupt again!

I would be surprised if his momma would even vote for him!

ani - "A small third world country?". More like the size of the planet Jupiter!

I can see it now - "Here come the Judge, Here come the Judge" from "Laugh In".

I was trying to sum him up in one word (thxs Wiki!):

Megalomania (from the Greek word μεγαλομανία) is a historical term for behavior characterized by delusional fantasies of wealth, power, genius, or omnipotence - often generally termed as delusions of grandeur. The word is a collaboration of the word "mania" meaning madness and the Greek "megalo" meaning "very large", "great", or "exaggerated", thus combining to denote an obsession with, either in the form of irrational perceived need for or preoccupation with in one's own estimation having and/or obtaining, grandiosity and extravagance (especially in the form of great fame and popularity, material wealth, social influence or political power, or more than one or even all of the aforesaid) and accompanying complete desirous and bombastic abandon; a common symptom if not the key diagnostic feature of megalomania.

It is often symptomatic of manic or paranoid disorders.

Well, it is troubling. There are plenty of people who like to just check the little box that designates a straight ticket and if DEMS do that, then Mackey is gonna get a lot of votes simply by default.

Here we are w/ crime discussions going on every day - and not just on this board - plenty of other discussions going on in cyber space about how thugs are part of a revolving door system here in Meck. And the judges are part of that.

I read an article last nite about how a judge here let a guy off b/c the computer he had ripped off from a homeowner could not be PROVEN in the courtroom to be the homeowner's b/c the owner had not brought the serial # of the computer to the court hearing. I AM SERIOUS. That happened HERE.

I have said it before - Charlotteans can only vote for people who decide to run, and if we don't get anyone but lousy candidates - or god forbid - corrupt ones - then what can we expect as far as a well-run city and county?

Just by virtue of having his name on the ballot, Mackey will get votes if people just blindly go to the polls w/o knowing who the candidates really are.

Let's all go down to city hall and fill out the forms, pay our $35 or whatever the fee is, and run for whatever is open. Dern.
