One of my kids father pays child support and my other son lives with my grandmother and has been for years and i gave her temporary custody to help her out in a situation and being that he lives with her, i couldn't do the child support. She is the one have to do it and she didnt because she didn't want her disability check to decrease. It's going to work out for me I just have to take the necessary steps and praying is the first and biggest step. I just have to let go and let God. I really do thank you all for your advice and concern. It's good to know that their are still good people in this world.

I did take some college courses at a community college where I'm from but I didn't finish (Business and Office Technology). Could you give me a list of the community colleges and I will check into it. That is one of my goals that I have set for myself. A job was the first thing on my list. It's not much but i'm going to look for a better one. Thanks.
Central Piedmont Community College has its main campus right on the edge of uptown Charlotte, but there are satellite locations around town too. You may want to phone them and ask for an appt with a career counselor to help get you started - they have many wonderful programs.

I respect that you feel the need to pray. As someone who does not do that though, my first reaction is you need to take action on your own. Go to Rowan Cabarrus Community College in Concord (off highway 73) and look for job training. Also, there are lots of jobs in Concord at these restaurants-- with tips you will have a flex schedule for school plus make more money than you do now in tips. God will be there for you, but he won't drive you to school or to interviews....take action. You will do fine here, there is a lot of opportunity! Good luck--

God is who get me through the storms and I will continue to go to Him because He has helped me through a lot. As far as taken action on my own without God, that WON'T happen. With God ALL things are POSSIBLE! I know He won't drive me to school or to interviews but it is Him who got me the interview and the job I have now. I don't need any smart comments like that from anyone. I was just sharing my faith in God and prayer. As long as He's the pilot in my life I WON'T fail at anything. You do you and I'll do me. I have computer skills and I've also taken college courses so I'm not illiterate. You're speaking as if I don't work already.

Please do not be so touchy, I do not believe ncisgreat meant you any disrespect or harm! They were just offering practical advice I for one never go anywhere without inviting God along with me, but not everyone feels that way.

Perhaps ncisgreat was thinking of that old joke:

A man's house was caught up in a raging flood and he was stranded on his roof. A man in a raft floated by and said, "Jump on, I'll save you!" But the man answered, "No thanks, God will save me!"

Then a man in a power boat came by and said, "Jump in, I'll save you!". But again the man answered, "No thanks, I trust God to save me!"

Finally, a helicopter hovered overhead just as the man's roof was going under. The pilot threw down a rope and said, "Hang on, I'll save you!" But the man answered, "That's okay, I know God is going to save me!"

Well, then the man drowned.

He gets up to heavan and when he meets God says, "Lord, what happened?? I thought you would save me!"

And God answered, "I sent you a raft, a boat and a helicopter - what more did you want me to do??"

Just a funny reminder of how God helps those who help themselves - which it sounds like you are trying to do

I agree...ncisgreat did not mean any harm, nor did he imply that prayers are meaningless. He merely provided more concrete and actionable steps, instead of just theories. I truly think he meant well and so do all the replies here.

Best,

Default looking for low income

Hi. Right now im a college student supporting myself and paying for my own schooling. I live in Heatherwood apts. in Concord NC. I live in a one bed room, which i know would be tough for you since you have 2 boys. Anyways, my rent is 395.00 a month. My water and electric usually run about 50.00 a month. Now don't quote me on this but, my new neighbors said their rent was 425.00, so rent could have gone up. I really hope this helps! My dad was a single father to my sister and I. I know times are tough. I admire you for the effort you're putting forth for your boys. Hang in there!!!!!
PS- Dont forget about food stamps! They will help!
