Wallet Hub ranks Charleston the #2 best place in the nation to retire in 2021 behind Orlando. They say we’re #1 in the nation for fishing facilities per capita.

Travel & Leisure Magazine’s readers name Charleston #1 in the U.S. for the 9th year in a row, #18 in the world; and Hilton Head and Kiawah islands take the top 2 spots for islands in the continental U.S.

Linked-In ranks Charleston second among “larger metros” in the number of applications for remote work; that is, cities where people are seeking to live as remote employees.

The State Newspaper has a slew of headlines/articles right now making it sound like Charleston and the coast’s future prosperity is doomed or in question. I don’t subscribe to The State anymore. They sure seem to be having fun writing about sea level rise and the threat to the coastal economy.

I feel that this fits this thread perfectly. If they didn't want shenanigans, they should have named it differently.

The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) on Friday arrested a Summerville man after he allegedly pointed a gun at two people at a bar on Old Trolley Road.

Carmelo Manuel Viera (47) was arrested on two counts of pointing and presenting a firearm, unlawful carrying of a pistol, and resisting arrest with a deadly weapon.

According to an affidavit, deputies arrived to Shenanigan’s Bar on Friday night after witnesses said Viera pointed a gun — identified as a Bond Arms .45 caliber Derringer — at two people during a “physical altercation.” The affidavits say that one of the victims was a woman at the bar and the other was a bouncer working for the bar.

I named the thread. I figured people could post anything they wanted and it would fit as long as it pertained to Charleston or the area, unless they chose to make a new thread on a specific topic, which is cool.

I wasn't talking about the thread name. I was talking about the bar name. Hence the reason I hi-lighted it.

Well, I’m definitely embarrassed. To be honest, it would have helped if I had focused on the post and read it to the end. Sorry.
