I did (google it) and that's why I am confused. Someone said that the police raided him but that happened in the last century.....but google says the police raid happened in 2001, this century. So what happened.....or did the police raid him more than once?

The cases between him and Jeffrey Jones get confused quite often. They both happened about the same time.
From what I remember and reading up on it a bit.. And, admittedly, I had completely forgotten about this. It was around 2001 or so as I remember it. Basically, because he was friends with Jeffrey Jones (The principal from Ferris Bueller and he appeared in various other things) he was under investigation in that case. Where Jones solicited photos from a 17 year old.
Jones was convicted in that case, and subsequently for failure to register. his career ended at that time. He got a role on Deadwood, but that's about the only thing he did afterwards.
So, cops raid Pee Wee's house. They seize a collection of magazines. Pretty large collection. As I recall, some of them were nudist magazines that I would assume had pictures of naked children. Details, I don't know, but I think it was like 3 out of 10000 magazines.. This is off memory, so, again.. Don't quote me on this.
Quite frankly.. There's a big-ass difference in that and "Child Pornography". If this were 10k of those magazines.. Maybe, but three out of 10k.. There's a legit defense that he didn't even have a clue he had them. And.. Then there's the whole argument that nudism is not pornography.
I recall something that apparently some evidence also got mixed up.. A tape seized from someone else was mixed up in the evidence from his case.
Anyway.. At the end of the day.. He pled guilty to possession of obscenity.. Which.. Probably he could have won the case, if it went down as above. But, do you take that risk? At some point, you just want it to go away.
The weird part tho.. He agreed to be on the sex offender registry for a time. Which.. kinda rings hollow. If they got nothing on you, then you don't agree to that. You fight that.
Like most things.. the odds are.. The truth of the matter probably lies somewhere in the middle.
