And I think too many people are too thin-skinned; the entertainment industry seeks to attract the easily-manipulated, and use their popularity for its own ends.
And they are masters at this deceit; when was the last time that MSN didn't show a picture of Donald Trump that didn't depict him as a frightened tyrant, and an unsympathetic figure?
And a certain segment of the population are drawn to, and manipulated by the physical image alone; anyone who's seen Todd Browning's film Freaks (1932) should know what I'm talking about.
Mr. Rubebns' Pee Wee Herman was essentially non-ideological and harmless --- but that's not always the case.
