Ironically its now 911 pages of this.

I am referring to large parking lots that were once completely abandoned in 2020 now are being occupied for their intended purpose for whatever purpose whether its shopping or otherwise. I remember malls were completely deserted for much of 2020. I be curious whether sports stadiums are still used when they are in season and may be filled to 100% capacity?

Its interesting people would still need to wait hours at a testing site for any reason though.

As I mentioned in another post bad service and overwhelmed staff had been a result of some drastic decision change years prior to COVID19 likely by generation x, y, z MBAs to maximize profits and cut overheads to a bare minimum. Even 2019 had been not so good even before COVID was even known. Its all a smokescreen just like security(airlines and airports quality had been on the decline since late 1990s prior to 9/11, environmental eco movements(now corporate businesses are able to cut costs in the name of saving bla bla bla, war against drugs, and now COVID being used as a spearhead to penny pinch in every possible way.

The fact that Omicron takes over, and not co-exists with, Delta over time is all the real world data we really need.

It's pretty amazing that, when we had delta and maybe 20-30 cases detected in the community each day, we would get notifications from the school of COVID cases about once or twice a week.

Now, with Omicron basically being a nothingburger, we have 2000+ cases detected in the community every day, but not a single notification from the school, because no one is getting sick enough to test.
That part is fantasy. If notifications aren't being sent, it's more likely because "Duh, some kids are sick" or not wanting to alarm parents into keeping their uninfected kids out of school.

That is from the Live Science link you posted.

Your posts by default now are full of distortion and wishful thinking.

Must be a different world within Ventura Unified. Contrast that with LAUSD, where as of yesterday, out of 887 campuses on the district's dashboard, 780 schools are currently reporting more than 10 active cases among staff and students.

Many districts might as well move high school students to remote learning for weeks to prevent more spread and also save money on gas, food, etc.

Also, Los Angeles government officials are advising the public to avoid many social, recreational activities, but apparently the mayor is as usual gutless and would rather avoid criticism than give that advice much-needed publicity by mentioning it himself.

I assume youre talking about this quote:

"Even in states with relatively less omicron, the variant is responsible for 80% or more of cases, Bedford wrote on Twitter on Jan. 5."

They were talking about the UNITED STATES not SOUTH AFRICA. South Africa doesnt have states, they have provinces.

If youre going to come at me Im open to that but get your facts straight.

Okay, you win that round. Strange, sudden shift in that article from discussing South Africa to discussing parts of the USA.

30% student absentee rate in LA. If that continues or if it's worse than that in some locations, I don't see how it makes financial sense to have all the campuses open. For example, wasted food. Plus, after a few weeks of ineffective from-home learning or too many substitute teachers, some parents will pull their kids from LAUSD altogether and have some other organization do the teaching. More than ever, the district needs to provide a better school experience. The school system should have made pods an option instead of some usually crowded campuses.
