I second this

So it's like an underground culture, akin to the way speakeasy's used to operate? You have a special knock you use at the back door and they let you in? If I can find one of those, do I need to wear a disguise? Like a hat and sunglasses? 'Course, given how long it will be since my last trim and style, I may need a hat to go out in public anyway.

I'll try that. I hope anyone I ask isn't hard of hearing because it's going to be difficult asking them quietly if I'm standing 6 feet away. 'Course, I could pass them a note, right? That could work. Yeah, I'll try that.

Seriously though, this is just the most bizarre time I've ever seen in my long life. There's a positive to all of this. It's really given me insight into how other less fortunate - or free - countries are to do what they want when they want. I never appreciated my freedom as much as I do now. I hope to get it back soon and I hope the same for all of you reading this.

Some stylists are doing house calls and the salons are like speakeasy’s lol good analogy. They’re doing whatever they can to survive. Call your stylist and see what he/she is doing to work around this lockdown

I'll do that, Finper. Thanks and best wishes on your move. Moving is always stressful but even more so during this pandemic. Safe travels.

End of next week, I am going to call the person who has been cutting my hair since the late 1990s. Last week when I talked to her, she was hoping to be able to open her salon in mid May. Her salon location rules out any discreet opening. She stated she was not inclined to risk a "big fine" by opening up before it is allowed. There is a mobile barber working in SF Bay Area. She charges $55 for a haircut in SF and price goes up for outside of SF

Thanks, tikkasf. Dani's in the greater bay area and SF. I'm in the valley. I'm sure I can find someone who will do it. I'll start sleuthing next week.

Thank God I’m leaving this crazy state. Good luck I hope you all survive despite the dictator
My barber is making house calls during this. He charges double but it's worth it. Is gruesome Newsroom cutting his own hair I wonder?

Yeah, like that's going to happen. He probably has a guy that comes to him and I'll be he hasn't set foot in a grocery store since he wore diapers. Elites have no idea what it's like for the rest of us. They have "people" who come to them. We, on the other hand, have to seek out someone, do it our self or do without.
