I see this nonsense all the time, but this one was worthy of a pic because there's only ONE grocery bag in the cart (aside from the McDonald's trash)

The amount of money the store has to pay to get their cart back is many, many times the profit they made from whatever is in that lone grocery bag from Ralph's.

p.s. she's on the phone, not walking crooked on purpose
I am not sure why you want the sign in Spanish. I used to have a Korean neighbor who brought home a cart of groceies once a week, & would leave the cart on my lawn. So I would have to wheel it back to her house, if I spoke to her about it, she would claim no understanding of English. Plus I have seen many homeless white people with carts.

The carts around here have a lame wheel that locks up if it leaves the parking lot. I see the checker "scans" the cart as it leaves the store. Never tried it to see if it worked though.

I DO know of a vacant lot where there's gotta be 75 grocery carts (shopping trollies) abandoned.

Oh they work. I drive an F350 so I am used to parking "yonder" and the last time I was at a grocery store it locked up and I had to carry groceries about 50 feet. No big deal but they do lock up.

If we're talking about race/ethnicity, this has been a problem in the Mira Mesa neighborhood of San Diego for decades (even during the tough on crime 3 strikes era). It is typically the older Vietnamese or Filipino immigrants, who are the majority in that neighborhood, that would leave shopping carts everywhere after carting their groceries home. The younger Americanized generation of Filipinos and Viets don't do this.

Also, I never noticed this to be a problem in Latino neighborhoods of SD.
