How much are start-up union fees for a grocery worker in central-southern california?

Can someone explain to me why I had to pay $250 (basically my whole week's check) every few months for union dues after the strike in 2004? I worked for Albertson's too.

I was not a scab, I came after the strike was resolved.

Back then why didnt you ask your supervisor that question ? Thats a total ripoff but unions are like that.

It depends on how your contract is written. I'm wondering why you don't ask the union the questions you posed to us?
