LOL. Yeah it's not for everyone. I live in a similar neighborhood to Prospect, and I like living closer to my neighbors because I like them all and am super social. However, a pin doesn't drop in here without everyone knowing it. If that sort of thing bothers you, look to another neighborhood where no one ever speaks to each other (or with large enough lots where you can pee unobserved LOL). But, Prospect can't be beat by any neighborhood in the nation for cool modern architecture in my opinion (especially for single family homes, that is VERY unusual). I know several people who live in Prospect and they all love it, but like I said, it takes a certain type of person ( a social one).

BTW, I live in a regular, single family neighborhood where we know each other and are very social. For example, we have a walking group that has been going on since some of the kids were in second grade, and now the youngest has gone off to college! We have an annual picnic subdivision party, and there are neighborhood play groups with the younger kids. Most of us hire the neighborhood kids to feed our pets and water our plants when we are away. My DD picked up a lot of money this summer babysitting neighbor kids when she put out a message on the neighborhood e-mail group. You don't have to live in a New Urbanist community for that. Not, mind you, that I have any problem with people who want to do so. I just got the feeling that Prospect was a little extreme on the busybody scale.

We checked out Prospect when we were in Boulder and thought it was a very neat design. However, we'd prefer to live in Boulder (not Longmont). I hadn't thought about the busybody aspect of a neighborhood with very little personal space. We'll have to consider that!
