I have this funny feeling that is not what you would do. But hey, do as I say, not as I do - what else is new?

Considering we are still in the midst of a pandemic, and those worst effected by food insecurity and economic insecurity and resulting stressors are still experiencing it, and thankfully (not) to our pro big business capitalistic conservative government policies, those individuals will likely be the last to experience an economic recovery, we can expect this anomalous spike to taper somewhat slowly. Still, it's a result of a once in a lifetime (hoepfully), pandemic.

There is no pandemic. Most bad things we are experiencing now are a result of government lockdown not due to a virus.

You do realize pandemic had zero effect on those doing all the shootings are carjackings, right? Can't lose a job you never had, and all those sweet taxpayer welfare dollars never stopped flowing in.

You act with certainty certainty but that is not what scholars think. Most of them think there are multiple factors and it's hard to pinpoint the effect of each of them

I just sincerely hope the new mayor doesn't go on an all out blitz enforcing every ordinance on the books including ones not known or long forgotten by many. The other day, we nearly got tagged by city personnel coming by for putting out our trash before 5pm. Yes, if you look up trash removal in the City's website, it does say you have to put it out after 5pm and use acceptable rubbish bins but still. Prior to the pandemic and working from home, no one bothered to pay attention to the rules because practically everyone put their trash out after 5pm which is the time they get home from work. Now with teleworking, it is easy to forget and quite many probably weren't even aware of the rule. Also, technically you're not supposed to put your trash in boxes, grocery bags or paper bags but in the past, many people did. I just don't want a mayor who is overzealous over enforcing little things that's all. Some of those rules ought to be scrapped anyways.

Don't worry, someone will be getting their head bashed in or shot across the street and there will be no cops or anybody around who cares, but the code police will be right there to give you a blazing green ticket for putting out your trash too early. Just make sure you have your mask on and keep your mouth shut.

I am speaking to the crime forecasting literature in peer reviewed journals that predicted this at the very beginning. Not some capitalistic Malcolm Wiener funded "think tank" crap.
