It's also just about summer, and the bulk of students have left town and it's kind of a transition period between that and the full onset of tourist season which could be impacted by the economy. There have also been a lot of people away I think, but downtown has been less active since the pandemic. It never really bounced fully back and it seems like the street population in downtown has increased.

Yea its the area youre thinking of. I rarely ever go north of there. Aquarium and Quincy Market are just bad tourist draws. Really disappointed in our aquarium. But when I went there last summer it was pretty busy in Quincy Market and surroundings. The only exception was the re-done City Hall Plaza was as much of a ghostland as ever (of course)

Here's where it will be allocated :

Some of the larger budget amendments included an $8 million allocation to the mayor’s office of housing; $9 million to youth, employment and opportunity; $4 million to the office of economic opportunity and inclusion; $2 million to arts and culture; $2 million to parks and recreation; $2 million to women’s advancement; $2.2 million to the office of human services; and $10 million to participatory budgeting.
