Bingo

Repeating in any sport is very difficult. Last year coupled with the great pitching they rode the wave of clutch hitting from folks playing above their level. That doent take anything away from winning the Championship. They were good and had/have very good pitching.

With injuries (esp the catcher) and maybe not so clutch wave riding from the bats a repeat will be a challenge. Plus Beltran from my perspective is a misstake - bad mojo

Also - there are to me at least 5 (potentially more) teams better than the giants this year, seriously

Giants have injury problems this year and it will be tough and I would not close the door on the Giants.

It became tougher today. This morning the team announced that Beltran and Sergio Romo were having to go on the DL. Already on the DL for the rest of the year are Buster Posey and Freddie Sanchez.

Not on the DL, but unavailable for today's game are:
Nate Schierholtz....bruised foot.
Aaron Rowand...ribs
Jeff Keppinger ...wrist sprain

Walking wounded playing anyway because of shortage of players:
Pablo Sandoval...lined ball into foot last night, able to play, but at firstbase due to limited mobility.
Miguel Tejada...came off DL and was scheduled for a 25 day minor league rehab...but had to be called up to play third in Pablo's absense.

And then as icing on the calamity cake, in today's game starter Jonathan Sanchez injured his ankle fielding a bunt in the third inning and had to leave the game.

I hear you but they are not the only ones. Last year the phils were desimated by injuries and ended up with the best record in Baseball. This year they have more than their share as well. We have had the starting lineup for a bout 10-12 games all year. Agree the bug has been worse to the Giants but other teams have gotten past it. End of the day, frankly their pitching isnt as good this year and their bats are dead (last year they hit way over their heads but hey they won fair and square). This year i really just dont see it. BTW the Phils just blew a 9th inning lead against the DBacks.

Also heard Snachez went down while watching the Phils, my thought was actually just not in their cards this year. It is really hard to repeat...
