I definitely think there’s a liberal/Subaru connection.
I bet most truck owners are conservative.

Subaru is the most common brand in our state (WA) according to DMV records, however they are popular on the conservative eastern side of the mountains as well as here in the Seattle area. I would say that your comment about trucks was true 10-20 years ago, but not any more. In fact I see people like my (liberal) next door neighbor trading in his Subaru for an F150. The old redneck beater pickup may still exist in places but the comfortable 4 door short bed trucks are the new family car. Our area is now over 30% Asian, mostly from India, and I don't see any of them in trucks, most are in Honda, Toyota and Hyundai.

Many recent immigrants buy brands that they coveted back home but couldn't afford them. This is their chance to finally get their hands on what they dreamed of all their lives. That's why Lexus will never fly but BMW and Mercedes do.

A friend of mine (Mexican) just bought a new GMC crew cab with all of the toys. He and his wife have a travel trailer that they sometimes tow with it. It is one of the nicest vehicles I have ever ridden in, a far cry from the stripped-out trucks of years past.

Your thoughts?
I’m white and have owned two pickups in my lifetime, a GMC and a Ford. I drive nothing but Honda vehicles and have since 1990.

I see black men in Chargers all the time. Same with Challengers. In fact, Dodge as a brand is overwhelmingly masculine. I seldom see a woman driving one.

In my area I would say 7 out 10 drivers in Chargers are black. Predominately black male but a noticeable amount of black women also, but the seem to gravitate more towards the challenger for the most part.

If it's a lifted pick-up truck, 8 out of 10 times it will be a will be a white male.

Here is Colorado ...

They don't let you live in Boulder unless you drive a Subaru, not even kidding! (yes i am)

Everywhere south of my city (colorado springs) is over 50% Hispanic & that means pick-up's & lowriders.

Both blacks of all ages & white elderly persons love their "sofas on wheels" (large 4-door sedans).
Teens & 20's like Honda, Dodge, Jeep & Subaru. Soccer moms & probably 75% of the general population drive SUV's. Boomer white guys like Ford's, Gen X white guys like Mopar.

Oh lord dont say that. The last thing this country needs is soccer moms driving around in 15mpg full sized V8 pickups needlessly sucking up gas and making us more dependent on foreign oil.
