Is it just me but this store makes me sick. City hall yesterday is making it hard for big box stores to be built in city limit's but RR has their arms open wide. Just another reason why i will not be traveling I35 north any time soon. Houston and Dallas looks like one big parking lot but we have a chance in Austin to stop it. Don't get me wrong i do shop at Walmart sometimes but that IKEA store is over the top and everyone should have cow bell on to enter the store (: Take some farm land cut down the five trees and pave a city block our two get some money from the city well most of it and you two can run the country.

Too late to protest now...I plan to take half the day off to go sit and watch the madness when they open. Hey, I'm an easily amused kind of person!

Jeff Ward, on KLBJ AM from 3 to 6 PM, has been making fun of the people who are camping out waiting for the grand opening. Hilarious sarcasm, mixed with some fun calls from actual people who are waiting to get into the store. I totally don't get it, I've been to one IKEA in my life and I have absolutely no interest in ever going into one again. What's the big deal?!? It's a big store with some slightly inexpensive stuff that isn't very appealing to me aesthetically. Oh well... *shrug*

Jeff is irreverent about EVERYTHING! I like the way he pokes fun at people that take themselves too seriously!
I'm only going to the madness because I have time on my hands then.

A fellow Jeff Ward fan?

I might have to start a thread about him. He's one of my Top Ten Reasons For Living In Austin. Afternoon drive time is horrible without his biting sarcasm. We're lucky he hasn't been snapped up by a national syndicator, so we still get to hear him talk about local issues and take local calls.

Oops... thread drift..... better say something about IKEA..... IKEA is opening tomorrow in Round Rock. There, back on topic.
